Privacy policy

Your Mac life plan stays local. The website only submits your calculator details when you choose to email your result.
Who we are
Life Years Left is made by Guiix Pty Ltd. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions or a request to remove a registration.
The Mac app
Your birth date, chosen dates, life-table selection, saved estimates, display formats and colours are stored in local app preferences. Longevity guide answers are saved locally only when you choose “Use this date”. Your app life plan and health answers are not sent to this website. The app does not require an account for its life calendar.
Optional support and registration are separate explicit actions. The native app’s endpoints are still being prepared; this website does not change the app or connect those endpoints.
The online death clock calculator
Your initial birth-date and table choices stay in the page until you choose “Email the result”. That action submits your birth date, selected population and sex category, email address, app-update choice, browser locale, time zone and UTC offset to register.php on this website.
The server calculates your estimate, saves your email registration, asks its mail service to send the result, and returns the estimate for immediate display. The birth date, table choices and result are used in memory and the result email; they are not saved in the registration collection. Your result email contains the estimate and source details, not your date of birth.
The registration collection keeps your email, submission time, connection IP address, locale, submission purpose and update choice. When the server is configured with a trusted proxy supplying approximate country, region and city, those fields may also be recorded. Unknown locations stay blank. Repeated submissions add separate records.
Result emails and app release emails
Requesting a calculator result authorises that result email and saves your email registration. It does not subscribe you to release updates unless you select the separate checkbox. The app-link signup explicitly signs you up for release emails.
We use registered addresses for the purpose chosen and do not sell the registration list. To stop updates or remove your submitted registration, email [email protected]. We keep registration records until you request removal or the associated service is discontinued. Mail providers may retain delivery records under their own operational policies.
Cookies and connection information
The email forms use a temporary, essential session cookie to protect submissions against forgery. The cookie is HttpOnly and SameSite, and expires with the browser session. We do not use analytics, advertising cookies or third-party fonts on this website. The app screenshots and fonts are hosted locally.
To limit automated abuse, the server keeps request timestamps under a hashed connection-IP key outside the public document root. Old timestamps stop counting after one hour. Ordinary web-server and mail logs can also contain connection or delivery information.
Support and other websites
Choosing “Send message” on the support page submits your name if supplied, reply email, topic and message to support.php. The message goes to the Guiix support inbox with the submission time, connection IP, browser and approximate city/region/country from a local IP-location database when available. You do not need to include your birth date or health answers. A lookup failure does not discard your message.
Support uses a separate temporary session cookie and hashed-IP request timestamps outside the public root to prevent automated abuse. It does not add your reply email to the registration or release-update list. A direct email link is also available. Links to research, competitors, Guiix or the Mac App Store open other services whose privacy policies apply.
Your controls
You can edit or remove local app preferences independently of website registrations. Clearing browser cookies removes the form session but does not remove an email you already submitted. Contact support for registration deletion, access or correction requests.
