About Life Years Left
Updated 5 October 2026
We built Life Years Left to make time visible during an ordinary day on your Mac.
A countdown with a bigger picture
A lifespan expressed in decades is easy to put aside. A week is easier to recognise. Life Years Left brings those scales together: remaining time in your menu bar, and a life calendar of elapsed, current and future weeks.
You decide the frame. Use a target age, an Australian or US population estimate, your own dates or the separate Longevity guide. Your saved plan gives the calendar a reference; you can change it when you want a different perspective.
Made by Guiix
Life Years Left is a native macOS app from Guiix Pty Ltd. It supports macOS 13+ on Intel and Apple silicon. The calendar does not require an account. App life plans, display settings and saved guide answers stay in local preferences.
The screenshots on this website come from the actual Mac app, captured with example plans and answers. They show its calendar and guide rather than customer information. See the app controls and setup guide.
How we explain estimates
The free website calculator uses the same bundled population life tables as the Mac app. It finds remaining life expectancy at the current age, then turns that duration into a countdown date. We publish the source periods, interpolation and equal-weight averaging rules.
The separate Mac Longevity guide uses additional answers, research associations and disclosed app assumptions. It has not been clinically validated as a personal lifespan prediction. Our research page links the primary data and studies; our life expectancy guide shows worked examples.
How we write comparisons
Our buying guide and comparison pages are written from the perspective of Life Years Left’s maker. We use official product descriptions and state what we could establish about features and compatibility. The competing apps have not been independently tested by us.
We recommend by purpose: a local Mac life countdown, a health service, reflection prompts or an event timer. Prices and availability can change, so we link the official pages. We do not claim an independent award or invent user reviews. Read the best death clock apps guide.
Try it or get in touch
Email yourself a free death clock estimate and see it on the homepage. App release updates are a separate optional choice. The public Mac App Store link is being prepared; request the release link if you would like to hear when it is available.
